About

Clear records, made privately.

People in custody disputes, workplace grievances, housing fights and harassment cases need their messages as clean, dated, printable records. Most tools for this upload your chats, charge by the week, or let you edit what was said. We think that is the wrong way round.

The rules we build by

  1. Local only. Your messages are processed on your device. We run no servers that receive chat content.
  2. Nothing is edited. Imported messages can’t be changed. Names, redactions and notes sit in a separate layer, and every export lists them.
  3. Every message shows where it came from: an app’s own export, an Apple Shortcut, or text recognised from a screenshot, and how precise its timestamp is.
  4. Honest claims. We never say an export is “court-admissible” or “certified”. Courts decide what they accept. A good record supports your own account of where the messages came from.
  5. Only sanctioned routes. We use official exports, Apple Shortcuts and screenshots you take. No private APIs, no reading other apps’ data, no tools that break a platform’s terms.
  6. Fair pricing. One clear price, paid once. No weekly plans, no subscription traps, no paid reviews.

How we write the guides

Every platform fact and legal rule on this site links to a primary source: the platform’s own help center, Apple’s documentation, the rule text or legislation. Each page shows the date its facts were last checked. When we couldn’t confirm something, we say so instead of guessing.

The evidence pages are general information, not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer. If you spot something wrong or out of date, email hello@textexporter.com and we’ll fix it.
