Text ExporterGet early access

Privacy · updated 29 September 2026

We never see your messages.

Text Exporter is built so that your chats stay on your device. This page lists everything we do collect, which is very little.

The free web tools

The tools on this site (WhatsApp to PDF, Telegram to PDF, Instagram and Messenger to PDF, Bates numbering, Verify an export and the Incident log) run entirely in your browser. Your files are read by JavaScript in the page and never sent to us or anyone else.

  • Every page is served with a Content-Security-Policy that only allows connections to textexporter.com itself. The tools don’t send your files there either: the only requests they make are for the fonts used to build the PDF.
  • You can check this in your browser’s developer tools, on the Network tab, while you use a tool.
  • The Incident log saves your entries in your browser’s local storage on your device so they survive a page reload. Clear them with the tool’s delete button or by clearing site data.

The website

  • No cookies. No analytics. No advertising or tracking scripts. No third-party fonts or embeds.
  • The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We have not turned on request logging for the site.

The launch list

If you choose to join the launch list, we store:

  • your email address,
  • which list you joined and the page you signed up on,
  • the date and time, and
  • a random token used for the one-click unsubscribe link.

We don’t store your IP address. The list lives in a Cloudflare D1 database that only we can access. We use it to tell you when the iPhone app launches and to send early-access invites. We don’t sell or share it. Every email we send will have an unsubscribe link that deletes your address immediately. You can also ask us to delete it by emailing hello@textexporter.com.

The iPhone app (coming soon)

The app is designed so that we never receive your messages. Importing, reviewing and exporting all happen on your iPhone. Chats are stored in an encrypted store on the device. If you turn on the optional iCloud backup, it is encrypted with a key derived from a recovery phrase that only you hold, and it is stored in your own iCloud account. We will publish the app’s full privacy details, including its App Store privacy label, before launch.

Changes and contact

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions: hello@textexporter.com.
